The online social networking sites I have joined, such as MyBlogLog and MySpace, really do seem like a good way to network and get people to visit your site. You can join groups so that you can network with people in your specific niche. Even if you just join groups and don't talk to anyone, other people in the group tend to check out other member profiles. You can also learn from other members. It's really interesting how many people are out there on the web who are making money or trying to make money online. The amount of information appears to be neverending.
